How to Care for Hand-Embroidered Garments
Protect Moroccan embroidery, sfifa and delicate fabrics with practical cleaning, pressing and storage advice.

Hand embroidery rewards gentle care. Air a worn piece before deciding it needs cleaning, and treat small marks promptly with a clean cloth. For heavily embroidered caftans and takchitas, professional dry cleaning is the safest option.
Press from the reverse on low heat and place a cotton cloth between the iron and delicate fabric. Never press directly over aakad buttons, beading or metallic thread.
Store the garment on a broad padded hanger inside a breathable cotton bag. Keep the belt separately, avoid plastic for long storage and give folds time to relax before the next occasion.
