The Everyday Jellaba Guide

How to choose fabric, fit and details for a Moroccan jellaba that works throughout the week.

The jellaba earns its place through ease. For warmer days, choose breathable cotton or a light crepe; for winter, a denser weave layers comfortably over knitwear. The shoulder should sit naturally and the hem should clear the ground in the shoes you wear most.

Pockets, a lined hood and washable trim matter more in daily life than decorative excess. Neutral olive, sand and navy combine easily, while a contrasting sfifa adds character without limiting how often you wear the piece.

Try it over the clothes you actually own. A good everyday jellaba should simplify getting dressed, not create a special occasion of it.
